I also had glasses at one point, but they are insanely thick, and didn't even fully straighten my eyes/move the image into perfect alignment, so they are not really an option, because they would look pretty hilarious on camera. I have had 3 surgeries in my life to correct it, but all have failed over time, including the last one performed by world-class doctors at UCLA. And again correct on the convergence effect. This would allow me to pop the contacts in when I need to record a video so I can "straighten" my eyes by focusing close, yet still read the teleprompter at 5-10 feet away since the focal point is adjusted by the lens.ĭoes anyone have experience with anything similar, or can you tell me what kind of contact lens prescription this would be, if it's even possible? This is like a simple diopter, isn't it? Like those found in viewfinders of DSLR cameras, or even cheap glasses at the grocery store? Is that possible with contacts? I imagine it might be possible to get corrective contacts that would allow me to flex my eye muscles to "focus" 6" in front of me, but the actual focal point would be 5-10 feet away. The issue is, if I "focus" on a point 6" from my face, and the teleprompter is 5-10 feet away, I can't see shit because everything is blurry, LOL. My question revolves around a teleprompter.Īs my scripts and videos get more complex, memorizing scripts gets more difficult, so it would be great to use a teleprompter. On camera, it appears as if I have no eye issues, but from my perspective, everything is blurry since I'm focusing so close to my face.

I am able to overcome this by essentially memorizing a script, and straightening my eyes by "focusing" them on a point about 6" in front of my face, while still "looking" at the camera, which is 5-10 feet away. I do a lot of video teaching, but have a "lazy eye". I have what might be an interesting question for the lot of you.
